Review

This is book 5 in the series and the first one I’ve read. This has been on my TBR pile for a while since managing to secure an early copy via a giveaway on Twitter earlier this year.

I don’t feel as though you need to read the previous book although could help as to the back story of the characters. However, I did enjoy this book, and was full of twist and turns and a few surprises.

We are treated to a gripping tale involving Lara Chorley and Ruth Hull and their infatuation with a man called Michael Vokey. The only thing Michael Vokey is in prison and he is a bit sadistic with a strange drawing he has created pinned to his wall in the cell.

We have a few twists and turns through this book which added to my enjoyment and one that once I thought I had sussed out what was happening, I found that I was wrong. I like that it books and to me it adds to the enjoyment.

All in all I enjoyed this book and now have added to the previous books to my to be read list to catch up on the back stories of both DI Marie Rome and DS Noah Jake both of whom seem to have had troubled pasts on way or another.
