The Adventures of Billy Bog Brush #Review #BlogTour #BillyBogBrush

The Adventures of Billy Bog Brush

Today I am pleased to be able to participate in the blog tour for The Adventures of Billy Bog Brush.  My thanks go to Faye at Authoright for my spot on the blog tour.

About the Book

It is a lovely day in Billy Bog Brush's neighbourhood. Billy is wondering what to do with himself, when he hears his neighbour, Mrs. Brown, screaming for help. Billy springs into action! Billy races to the scene where he finds Mrs. Brown’s house is on fire and she is locked out. Billy must use creative thinking to find a key. Will Billy manage to get the key before the fire brigade arrives? In this sweet children's story about courage and helping others, Billy learns how much fun it can be to be a hero!

Review

Today I have a review from Amelia and myself for this book.

Amelia’s review

Billy Bog Brush is a nice short story which I read with my mum and is aimed at children aged between 4 and 6.  This book can be used as a nice bedtime story for parents to read to their children, or for children to read by themselves if they are able to.

This books is a lovely book about caring for others and thinking straightaway about plans for situations.

My review

This is a children’s book and I would say it is aimed at children aged 5+ who can either read to their parents or have this read to them.

It’s a book about Billy Bog Brush and the brave thing he does in rescuing the grandson of his neighbour Mrs Brown.

We are treated to how Billy goes to the rescue after hearing cries for help and how he manages to get into the house of Mrs Brown.

There are a few pictures that help the story but not many, but what there are colourful and help the story for that younger reader.

Amelia and I read this book together one evening before bed and took us just over 10 minutes to read.  We found this story interesting and one that shows bravery and courage.

At the end of the story there are quite a few blank pages where the authors Ian Campbell and Tim Constable want you to draw a few pictures of the images you have conjured up as you have read the book, which is a lovely idea.

All in all a lovely book and one I would recommend.

  1. Thank you Bev and Amelia, what a lovely review. This is Tim’s and my first foray into the world of Children’s books, I wrote the story and passed it to Tim who added some awesome ideas to the plot, especially Billy breaking the problem down into bite size chunks, and not least the pictures of which I feel he has done amazing things with.
I have seen the next book in the series called “The Lost Boy” and it is full of beautiful colour pictures and another great story of Heroics from Billy.
I hope you buy the next one and forever more fall in love with Billy and His Adventures.
    God Bless
