Hi my name is Amelia I am 10 years old and have only just
started doing this and this is my first review. My mum has been asking me for
months to do this and I finally said I would, this will be a regular thing
now. 😊
I am a huge fan of David Walliams
and have already read about 5 books of his, with a few more on my bookcase
ready to read.
This is a book about, well I
don’t think I really need to explain this as you probably already know. There
are 4 main characters in this book, Frank a young boy, Auntie Flip who babysits
Frank sometimes, Rita who is his mum and Gilbert who is his dad. As like every other book of David Walliams
there is of course Raj the newsagent from the corner shop which is not that far
from Franks house.
Frank’s dad was a banger racer and
had a really bad accident on the race track and unfortunately lost one of his
legs. Not just that he also lost his wife,
money and everything that belonged to him that was in the flat, including their
TV. Frank had a racing track that he used
to play with, (with his dad) after the accident and that also got taken away. They had nothing to sit on or do and the only
thing that was left was cups.
After the first few pages of Bad
Dad I did not want to put the book down. I feel like if I told you any more I would
spoil the rest of the story, and as my mum says “You’ll just have to buy the
book and read it yourself.”
It was absolutely amazing and read
when I could. I felt like I didn’t want
to stop reading and would sulk when I had to stop, which was when my mum and
dad told me I had to go to bed. 😊
I really enjoyed this book and
would definitely recommend it to children my age (I am 10 years old). After I
had finished the book I went to my mum and said “I think you need to read this
one. It is really funny and I know you sometimes read funny books.”
I enjoyed this just as much as
the other ones I have read.
