Review

Today on this stop of the blog tour, I have two reviews for this book, one is mine and the other is my mini me “Amelia”.

My Review

This is a lovely short story and a perfect read to a younger child starting out reading as they can follow the pictures whilst the story is read to them.  It is also a lovely book for those who are starting out reading themselves.

The pictures are lovely and tell a tale themselves which I found lovely to follow.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and found the story to be one of friendship and how friends stick together when other people can sometimes be nasty and on the verge of bullying.

We meet some lovely characters called Tommy Twigtree, Oliver Onion and Larry Leek who help Charlie the Carrot in more ways than one.

Overall this book is a lovely story and one I would recommend to children of around ages 4 – 5 or under who are able to read themselves or lovely a beautiful bedtime story with their parents about friendships.

Amelia’s review

This story is a good book for ages of around 6 and under.  In each picture it tells what is going on.  If you don’t know what is going on in the book the pictures can help younger children.

I found the pictures really enjoyable when I was reading the book on my own and thought that the pictures were very bright and colourful and love the way the illustrator has created these.

About the Author

Michael lives in rural Sussex with his wife. His story telling started when his eldest grandchild was old enough to appreciate a bedtime tale. Rather than read to her he began to craft stories about the trees, plants and animals that live in his garden. As time passed and a second grandchild also enjoyed these tales of adventure and daring, the stories began to create a whole world that lived and went about its business right in his garden.

His grand kids, Poppy and Rudi continue to enjoy further developments in the lives of the characters that populate these stories and Tommy Twigtree and The Carrot Crunchers is the first in a series charming garden tales.

Review

Today on this stop of the blog tour, I have two reviews for this book, one is mine and the other is my mini me “Amelia”.

My Review

This is a lovely short story about the stationery that is used in classrooms and how the stationery can feel abused and mistreated by children in the classroom, and how they get together to try to make children understand how things should be treated.

I enjoyed the story and felt that the pictures were simple enough for younger children to understand the relevant items that can be used in the classroom.

The book would be a good read for all younger children and in particular children who are aged 4 -5 years old who are able to read with their parents or as a lovely little bedtime story.

Amelia’s review

This story is a beautiful book to read and aged for around 5 and under.  If you are only just starting to read this would be the perfect book.

If you don’t understand what is going on in the story the pictures can help you to understand.

This story teaches children not to mistreat stationery and all stationery in this book is used in classrooms which helps younger children who are due to start school.
